Well, the first and only time we've gone here, we got sat at a hibachi table with a fat lady in a sweatshirt who brought her kid in his karate uniform... i really wasn't in the mood to go to dinner and sit with kids, if i was... i would have went to pick up my nephews or something... anyway-- there was plenty of other spots where we could have been seated. Well, as we expected, the kid ate w/his mouth open, ran around the resturant, talked and jumped up and down on his chair the entire time. the grossest part was definately chewing with his mouth open. his mom didnt even yell at him when he was running around w/noodles hanging out of his mouth. Our experience was ruined. We boxed our food and left immediately. As we were walking out the lady paid with a gift card (go figure) I guess this wasnt the resturants problem, the hibachi chef was really cool! The food was absolutely delicious... although a bit expensive, i think our total was around 80bucks (which i wouldn't mind spending if i had a nice dinner experience,i guess)... I think we would definately have liked the place if we hadn't been seated w/horrible little children who don't know how to act in public. If we ever go again, it will definately be with several other people so that we CANT get seated w/kids who chew w/their mouths open :)

to be expanded later... pros: great food, disco ball cons: expensive, disco ball overall: great experience

Medeocre food and lack of enthusiasm from hibachi chef and server. Steak was tough. We celebrated a birthday and the staff even came across as bored when they delivered the "fire cracker" birthday treat. The staff just seems as if they hate their job and the customers are a pain. I am more impressed with the Wexford Hibachi restaurant.

We made reservations for a party of 8 on a Sunday night. They wouldn't seat us until the entire party was present, so there we stood, waiting awkwardly in the entrance. Half the party arrived 2 minutes after our reservation time. They seated us 20 minutes after our reservation time. We came for the hibachi. That's the only reason to come to a place like this, in my opinion. The cook wasn't very exciting at all. No chopsticks offered! The noodles were sooo good. Rice so incredibly salty. Chicken sauce gross. Steak orders got confused. Shrimp: peppery. Drink refills hard to come by. I wouldn't encourage another outing to this place for any group I was with. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot the special occasion music. Blaring! Disco ball! Obnoxious. Frequent. (Our go-to place for Japanese steakhouses is Benihana so this is my point of reference for comparisons.)

Famous people come here! This is my first time here and Jack Wilson and his family are at our table. Go Bucs!!!

Average at best. I got the chicken hibachi dinner. The chicken was very tough and the noodles where half over cooked and half not. My guess is the grill wasn't heating up on one side. The soup was ok and the salad was just lettuce.
(3)Santana Ross W.
The hibachi was okay, but I will stick to just the sushi the next time. The monster rolls were delicious!
(3)Kvelertak L.
We had the sushi, it was awesome. Erik's sashimi was perfectly cut and Bjarte had the most fabulous avocado/pineapple roll with regular and white tuna with some kind of mango sauce, fucking AMAZING. A little pricy but totally worth it.
(5)Ian R.
Food was ok. I have had better Mongolian other places. The place itself looks kind of run down. Holes in the walls, grease and dust on the ceiling. Food was ok, was REALLY salty. I think the cool used way too much soy sauce.
(3)Elizabeth M.
Is it lame to enjoy Ichiban? Maybe. But I can't help but get excited when one of my coworkers suggests we leave for lunch and go here. They have great lunch specials and one of the tastiest spicy tuna rolls around! I know there are more "authentic" or "quality" Japanese establishments, but Ichiban hits the spot for me each and every time.

We met some friends here for dinner as they wanted to show us one of their go to spots for date nights. My wife and I got hibachi chicken and a volcano roll. They were both delicious and incredibly filling. I can't imagine being able to eat more food. I have to take off a star for two reasons. The first is the crazy music that came from the hibachi grill. I am so glad we sat in a booth near the sushi area. The lights and sounds would have really hindered conversation. The second is the glaring $8.00 shared plate charge for hibachi. Even though we bought two meals and decided to share them both that charge was hanging over my head the whole meal. I felt like I needed to keep the plates separate the whole time. My wife and I love trying new things and variety is the spice of life so I wish places like this would be more clear about shared charges on under a certain dollar amount. Other than these two caveats, this place is amazing. The service was prompt and cordial. The food was delicious and we had a great time catching up with friends. Highly Recommend.

This place has a nice staff and good prices for both sushi and drinks. The sushi/sashimi presentation is beautiful and the fish is very fresh.

Jay has been begging me to go here so I finally caved in and went. There was no wait when we stopped on a Thursday night. We ordered from the Hibachi Menu and we were seated by a family with bratty kids. Heres a tip: Bring enough people so you do not have to stomach someones bad kids. I ordered the chicken. To start off your meal you get a bowl of soup and salad. The salad was great. I hate salad but the ginger sauce was awesome enough to make me eat the salad. The soup was a light broth with mushrooms and onions. Then the main course. You get a plate full of vegetables, rice, lo mein, and chicken. The portions are amazing. I couldn't believe how much food you get. The food was fresh and delicious. They had happy hour from 5 to 7. Drinks were only five dollars and they were not light on the rum in my drinks. While Jay and I were here there were 2 birthdays. A birthday at this place consists of a disco light on the ceiling spinning around and a bad birthday song played so loud you can't hear the person next to you. If the light and the song are not good enough well then you get a flaming bouquet of flowers (you do not get to keep it) and you get ice cream. Luckily while I was here the bratty kid a few people down got to celebrate her birthday by hiding under the table and complaining about the horrid lights and song.

I like this Hibachi place the best in town. Much better than the other one nearby (Saga). The service is OK hence 1 star off, but the food is great!

I am big fan of Japanese Hibachi in the Pittsburgh area. Ichiban has always provided us with good food and good service. This one time we made a reservation with 4 other couples one Saturday night. We had to wait 15 minutes for our table to become available, and one couple from our group was running late. We sat at our our table and ordered drinks, still without that 4th couple. After our drinks arrived our waiter wanted to take our orders, but we wanted to wait for the 4th couple. The waiter left and came back about a minute later asking if we could order and to have someone call the 4th couple to get their order!!! We all looked at each other and told him that we would not do that. Thankfully the 4th couple arrived shortly there after. We have always had good service and excellent food, but that was completely outrageous. That would be like us asking to order our food before we were sat at our table. We still go there all the time with family and friends, and we have a good laugh when mentioning that story.

We went here for work related holiday gathering. Our group was large, about 20 people. They seated us in a back room with two hibachi tables back to back. Our servers were prompt in taking our drink order and then we ordered a huge spread of appetizers. Everything was awesome, especially the rock shrimp and the edamame, as well as several sushi selections. We all ordered off the hibachi menu, the "show" is always fun to watch. This is really an awesome place to go for a large group. They had no problem accommodating our big group, and at no time was anyone left waiting for foods, drink refills, etc.

Came with zero expectations. I was just craving anything "Asian". I really didn't think Cranberry Township could do much. However I was pleasantly surprised with the food. First of all, the value is amazing. I got a 9 fish sashimi plate that came with THICK slices for....$9.00. I was so blown away. Maybe this is normal for Cranberry/Pittsburgh but a sashimi plate like that would easily cost $18+ in LA. I was feeling a little greedy so I also ordered the lunch hibachi. Wasn't too impressed with the steak. Everything was really salty. But again, you get a TON of food for the value. The amount of rice that comes with the hibachi could easily feed 3 people. I really like the ginger dressing that comes with the salad. Service was good. Decor was traditional Japanese.
(4)Glenn C.
Horrible service! Waitress forgot my water and vanished. Soup and salad came after awhile and filet mignon and shrimp dish came 60 seconds later. Veggies were cold and steak quality sucked. I ordered it medium rare and parts were rare and gristly. Noodles were thick not as described. Workers were busy eating in the back. Even the bar tender had a bowl in her hands while standing up. I did eventually get my water and $8 glass of wine for a fetzer.
(2)Alice M.
The food here is always yummy. My calamari was a bit chewy. There people ordered steak with different levels of doneness but all three came off at the same time.
(3)Michael C.
I've reviewed this establishment before but I have an update. The recently underwent an extensive renovation of this restaurant. The decor is new; but I didn't notice it much. The interior waiting area was revised to allow for better flow and more space to wait; although there is no seating space for waiting. We made a 7:30 PM reservation the night before and were seated 30 minutes late. We weren't happy about that. The most obvious change in the dining area is the completely new hibachi tables/grills. The overhead exhaust fans are gone. The grills exhaust from vents on the grills themselves. While this is innovative, the design causes a lot of heat to stay at table level and makes for a hot experience for the guests.
(4)Zach G.
Very good food. Odd service practices. My wife and I always get a Hibachi Chicken meal and split it. When we have done this at the grill area, there is an $8 split fee and we both get soup, salad, and more than enough rice, noodles, veggies, and chicken. Tonight we sat at an individual table and ordered the same meal. Strangely, when you aren't at the grill you get either rice OR noodles - not both. Not a problem, we just chose to add the noodles as a side. They also brought out only one soup and one salad rather than two of each. My wife and I had to choose who would eat what. While this caught us off guard, we weren't charged the $8 split fee. I left almost more confused than when I arrived, but full of the best fried rice anywhere. The moral of the story is - skip the show and split a meal at a regular dining table for the best price.
(4)Lucy L.
Not a fan!! I ordered the filet and shrimp, so my review is based on that. The shrimp was over cooked, the filet was dry. There are better places out there.
(2)Alissa H.
never had bad sushi here. A plus every time with fresh sushi. Great and fast & friendly service every time. 7 heaven roll & volcano rolls are just 2 of our favorites! Their home made salad dressing rocks too! Even my 3 & 5 year old love the sushi here!

I absolutely love going to this restaurant! Best hibachi in the Pittsburgh area, in my opinion. My husband and i go here for our birthdays, anniversaries and special events. If you do get the hibachi, I recommend the steak. The soba noodles are excellent and it seems like a lot of Japanese steakhouses don't carry them. I have only been to this location but would be willing to try the others. The service is great!

Excellant food. Our chef was entertaining but I have seen better. The prices are very high, we spent $400 on 6 of us. Overall happy!
(4)Mary H.
This experience was the worst with cold hard rice and i felt like a minority because i was a white Irish American. My steak just off the table top was terrible. I was so upset we work hard for our time out together and want to spend our money on some thing we will enjoy. The restaurant was dirty and the restrooms omg would rather go in the parking lot hello!
